We’re still on vacation! Back on Tuesday the 25th!
At Appleseed Con last month, Mr. Kyle Latino told me that webcomics is a scary thing. You’ve got to be really brave to put yourself out there because if you make a mistake, you do it publicly. But webcomics are also wonderful because you are real and human for everyone to see. Learning in public… putting yourself out there, makes art pretty darn cool and just might encourage more people to join in the fun.
His words made me feel a lot better about the times I mess up or post things that I don’t feel work just right. I try not to beat myself up as much now.
(I hope I summarized it well. It was a really good convo.)
Anyhoo, here’s an example where I felt I had made a mistake.
About this image: There used to be a page between Corey gushing about the mask and LaSalle’s speech about his father. Agreeing that we were holding the audience’s hand too much, Chris and I decided to cut the page.
Cutting the page caused us a delay and a bit of re-writing.
